Paul McCartney and I Have Something in Common
Posted on July 28, 2010 with 0 commentsI just finished watching (on my color turned black and white tv) a tribute to Paul McCartney at the white House, with president Obama presenting him with the highest award for popular music - the Gershwin Prize. Sir Paul's career is notable "because popular music is not made with an eye to longevity, but his music has stayed around for 32 plus years!"
Paul and Stevie W. were great together, singing 'Ebony & Ivory', and after hearing Elvis Costello I am determined to hear more. Something Paul said resonated with me. "Writing songs is a mysterious magical process...to write songs my way, and then to hear how others interprete them is [awesome][my word]". To the first part I can totally relate. and I wish to hear others sing my songs too.
